A macro look at 2022
I actually think we have reason to be optimistic this year. This is partially because I enjoy optimism despite being a realist through and through, and it's partially because I think the energy is going the way we want it to. Not at this exact moment, mind you, but soon.
My arguments for 2022 being better are as follows:The Saturn-Pluto conjunction is now truly over. When I read charts, I tend to focus on exact or narrow aspects. What the pandemic taught me is that the vibe of the times can be dictated by outer planets making vaguer aspects than I prefer, like up to 15 degrees. I was in a state of denial about this for a while, but I noticed that COVID stuff kept kicking back up when Saturn was within the 15 degree range of Pluto, and as Saturn moved on, things tended to get better. Saturn recently stationed (stopped) within 15 degrees of Pluto and has just now left that range. (For those of you that missed it, COVID kicked off when Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter were all next to each other in the sky. This combo almost never happens, and it was big and bad. Obviously.)
Jupiter's in Pisces. This is good healing energy and also might get some of the more irate people who can't stop yelling their opinions to calm down, especially after the transiting south node leaves Sagittarius for Scorpio (more on that below).
But Jupiter will spend five months in Aries. Once you're done with the healing, you get fresh start energy. Who doesn't love a fresh start?
The exact square between Saturn and Uranus is breaking up and won't be as intense for a little while. While this is not the COVID causer aspect, it has been the COVID-sustainer for sure. It's an aspect that causes tension and it's not new: it has been in play all of 2021 and will be a factor all of 2022, but from March-June it won't be as loud. I, for one, welcome that. 2023 is when this tension aspect breaks up for real, so we do have to endure it, but we've already proven that we can.
Being a realist, I do think it's important to note one thing about the transiting south node switching to Scorpio later this month. I'm gonna talk more about this energy over the next few weeks, but the transiting south node tends to be quite noticeable and prevalent in terms of the vibe of the times. Scorpio is a lot of things, but one of them is deep emotion, and it's quite possible that once we stop treading water to get through the day/week/month as we have been all pandemic, we start to take stock and connect with the magnitude of things we've lost. There are simply some things that will never go back to the way they were pre-pandemic. Some people are already acutely aware of that, but I think you'll see it crop up more after the nodes change signs.
So, while the current state of affairs may be a clusterfuck, there is hope for better this year.
XO,
J
