Boldly going

The transiting north node of the moon and Uranus are within 10 degrees of one another now and for the rest of the year. Generally, Uranus means change wherever it's transiting your chart, and the transiting north node means that there's the potential for expansive, positive energy in that area, but often you need to take a few steps in order to truly activate the positive energy. Their presence together implies that positive change is going to mean new territory.

So anyone with a birthday now through the end of the year, take note: wherever this chunk of energy is in your solar return (you get a chart for the year at every birthday that details high points and challenges) is going to mean that good stuff is combined with new stuff, or different stuff, or breaking away from traditional stuff.

I'll give you an easy example of good energy meeting new energy: when I had to get a new car, I'd always bought used cars, but the used car market was upside-down, so it made slightly more sense to buy a new car, and at the time, Uranus just happened to be making a nice aspect to my Venus, so buying a new car happened quickly and easily. But I've never *had* a new car before, and I didn't consider myself the type of person who gets new cars, so I felt uncomfortable with the idea, even after owning the car for a few months. The car is quite nice, but it has all of these sensors, and beeps at me constantly to give me various messages. I have arguments with the beeping: I stopped to get gas the other day, and the car beeped at me to tell me my windows were down when I turned it off. ("I KNOW, I'm coming right back, jeez!")

Many of us are going to experience sudden change in areas that feel pretty stale, basically. Uranian energy tends to impatiently nudge us to make changes, encouraging us to stop tolerating situations that have become untenable (for one more second). With sextiles and trines to major planets or points in your chart, you know what you need to change and you change it and it's pretty smooth. With conjunctions and other harsh aspects, the changes look more spastic. If you're someone who is sensitive to energy, this is going to feel like constant nudges to do something that doesn't sound like a thing you'd do. Knowing what house of your chart this energy chunk is is crucial, for the record (Hi. Ask me if you're confused. You need a solid birth time, though--check your birth certificate.).

Let's pretend that this is happening in your 6th house of day-to-day work, chores, getting things done, mentors, health, and coworkers. This energy is in the sign of Taurus, which means breaking away from the normal or status-quo. You might find yourself at a chiropractor when you previously thought chiropractic was quack medicine (I have no opinion, this is just an example). You could experiment with an alternative work schedule. Take up Crossfit when you were previously more of a Zumba person. Hire someone to clean your house. Be intrigued with a niche area of your profession and appeal to an expert to teach you their ways (the expert will likely be considered zany or rebellious somehow). Get one of those treadmill desks.

The risk associated with not taking advantage of this energy is a feeling of futility and stagnation (boredom!). That’s the sign you’re on the wrong end of things.

All this is to say: if you feel the impulse to do something that would actually improve your life, but you feel like you're not the type of person to do said thing, I encourage you to reconsider. Just don't rob a bank.
