Eclipse time
(Turn around)
We are in eclipse season, which happens twice a year when there are new moons and full moons conjunct (in the ballpark of) the transiting nodal axis (which are two invisible points). If you want to know the astronomy of what that sentence just was, this is pretty straightforward, but basically the sun and moon have to be lined up with one another to make this possible, and it only happens twice a year.
Solar eclipses are new beginnings. September's solar eclipse is at 29° Virgo (on September 21), so check your chart for where the last degree of Virgo is placed: the house where the eclipse falls will experience some sort of change or new beginning. This is USUALLY good news. The reason you would begin to hold on to your ass somewhat is if the degree of a solar eclipse is doing something unfriendly in your chart, like squaring your natal Uranus or Pluto or something. But even then, it's new energy that requires some adjustment, but new energy nonetheless.
Lunar eclipses are either endings, conclusions, or emotional shifts. September's lunar eclipse is at 15° Pisces (September 7), so again, check that chart. Remember: lunar eclipses occur at a full moon, and if you're one of those people who experiences full moons very viscerally, lunar eclipses are full moons that someone fed steroids to. However, not everyone shares a sense of foreboding about full moons, so if this is you, try not to spread it around.
I maintain my opinion that solar and lunar eclipses shouldn't freak you out, because when you have some energy that rocks you to the point that doors and wheels are falling off things, an eclipse is NOT the first thing I'd look for in your chart. The conversation is more "you have an active harsh Neptune transit AND the progressed moon in the 12th house AND a horrible solar return AND there was a recent a solar eclipse opposing your sun." I'd say "AND" about 8 times, and it will never just be an eclipse that did something. Generally speaking with solar eclipses, half the time I'm fully expecting the change and the other half of the time I realize that upon reflection, the change or new energy happened organically. Then with lunar eclipses, a lot of the time it's a change of mind or a change of heart, so lunar eclipses can assist if you're too in your feelings about something. Very occasionally you will have a moment of illumination that you could maybe attribute to an eclipse or two, but if you think about it as a metaphor, the light goes away and then it comes back: maybe the light comes back different? Changing your goals or changing your mind happens all the time. Eclipses can just be a nudge in that direction.
Basically: don't sweat this. If you happen to be born on September 21, you'll likely have the sun and moon in the same house in your solar return, therefore the eclipse occurring in the context of your next year. So you would be right to expect big changes in the specific house the eclipse falls in in your solar return. I had that happen one year with the eclipse in my 11th house. I met tons of new friends. I changed lots of goals. Those are 11th house things. And they happened organically, because these things happened the year I learned astrology (also an 11th house thing...kinda...so go figure).
