Freedom

Do you have it?

For a few more days, both Mars and Jupiter are in Aries (Jupiter will stay in Aries, at least for the next few months), and this is big freedom energy. Aries doesn't want to be bogged down by anything, really.

With Saturn in Aquarius, and Venus and Mercury in Gemini, and even Uranus in Taurus, you might be thinking about what your options are. Gemini can find a lot of different options, but good luck getting it to pick something. Aquarius (especially Saturn in Aquarius) might be stuck on a few options and may need to lighten up a little, so there's a good balance here. Uranus in Taurus might be sick of the same old shit. So you might feel pulled in a bunch of different directions, or you might just gravitate toward the Aries energy and know for sure what you won't be doing anymore. Personally, I think that's okay: know for sure what's a "no" and go from there.

I usually don't give personal examples in real time, but perhaps this would be helpful for some of you: I've had an unsolvable recurring problem for 25 years that's been on my mind daily. I had some magical thinking going that if I could just solve this problem, my life would be good. I finally accepted that there is no solution to it, and then this energy that was going in to constantly ruminating about my unsolvable problem (and making myself extremely miserable) is now free to do other things. So if it's time to say "fuck it, I'm not doing that anymore," I recommend it.

I've been thinking about Pluto a lot since I realized that Pluto in Cancer coincided with the Great Depression and Pluto in Capricorn seems to be presenting us with very similar bleak energy. I'm VERY curious as to what happens when Pluto hits Aquarius, and we will get the first taste of that in April 2023, and I'll probably have more to say then. Additionally, if you read more than one astrological source, you know that the United States is going through its first Pluto return: that's right, Pluto has made only 1 lap in the sky since the founding of the country, and that's how slow it is. What does Pluto tend to bring up? Nasty shit you can't believe is happening and don't want to deal with. Or, often, the one thing you were really afraid would happen is the exact thing that happens. This is why Pluto is fascinating. Terrible, but fascinating.

There are many authors who describe Pluto way better than I can in far more eloquent terms, but it's an energy that greatly expands and/or obliterates whatever's around to (ultimately) show you where you are empowered or disempowered. Pluto events are not low-stakes, either. If you want empowerment, you have to realize that 1. it's really an inside job and 2. you might have to give everything you have (far more than you were prepared to pay/give/sacrifice/whatever) in order to achieve freedom from what's disempowering you. Sometimes it's a voice inside your head you need freedom from. Sometimes it's a particular life situations. Sometimes it's a specific person. Other times it's the government. There are clues in your birth chart, I promise.

Pluto transits make hypocrites out of the best of us. If you've ever made the strong statement of "I am never doing ___." It's almost like Pluto's listening and taking notes. Often it's the exact situation you swore you'd never deal with, or the person you were certain you didn't want to mess with, but hey, you get to decide whether you want to stand in your own power or be at the mercy of situations that are highly out of your control.

In conclusion, some food for thought for the macro energy right now: What are the things you *really* don't want to do anymore? What are your options? Are there any options that you don't think are on the table that actually might be, because you forgot about them? Are there seemingly permanent situations that serve as blind spots to you? Are there options that might make you uncomfortable in the short term but would be better for you int the long term? Are you trying to bail out a sinking ship? Do you maybe want to stop doing that?
