Hmm

Pluto in Aquarius so far

I donno, guys. It’s been a couple of days with Pluto in Aquarius, and I can’t say for certain I know what the vibe is, but you know what the vibe ISN’T? This sense of dread that seems to accompany Pluto in Capricorn, that catastrophe may lurk around every corner. I may be alone in this but I’m pretty sensitive to the ethos out there and did notice this shift, but only because I realized what was missing. Pluto in Aquarius, unsurprisingly, seems to confer a sense of mental pressure so far more than anything.

Is it any wonder that the TikTok hearing happened last week, with Pluto entering Aquarius, and that our politicians showed their whole entire asses? (If you’re reading this, are you connected to my wifi?) No. This is how astrology works. It’s actually not that subtle at all. I got a text from a friend over the weekend lamenting that Netflix and AirBnB and Uber were so cool at their inception and now they’ve turned into machines that churn out sub-optimal product. She’s not into astrology, though she does read this (👋💚), so she did not get a “PLUTO IS IN AQUARIUS” response.

Again, is it any wonder that the sheen on Silicon Valley is starting to sour (from a banking perspective and otherwise)? Absolutely not.

I wrote about this a couple of years ago, but here’s a refresher: Neptune’s been two signs ahead of Pluto since the 1940s, and that’s ending now, temporarily, actually, because I know you can count and Aquarius and Pisces are one sign apart (Neptune is in Pisces now). Neptune’s where we have illusions or a blind spot the size of a barn and Pluto is where we have zero illusions, bordering on despair and deprivation. (Cosmic joke) our parents tend to have Neptune around where our Pluto is, which is the cause of many fights, because children can clearly see some kind of stark reality and their parents can’t see it at all—the Pluto/Neptune split tends to be the culprit a lot of the time. Let me know if you want examples and I will give you some.

So back in the 90’s*, Neptune was in Aquarius (as was Uranus, but I’m keeping that nugget separate for now) and we were dreaming big dreams (a Neptune phenomenon) about how technology was going to change our lives exclusively for the better. I remember a friend of mine in high school, who was a nerd, and is now a very rich nerd, marveling at a new Intel processor, and saying to me “do you know what I’ll be able to DO with all of that capability?” and no, I did not have any idea. But it sounded like a big deal.

Technology made a lot of things better, and made other things, like the ability to relate to each other, so much worse. Now Pluto’s in Aquarius, doing its obliteratey thing. Don’t get me wrong: your computer is not going to suddenly turn to dust. It’s just, at the end of this ~20 year interval, you’ll be acutely aware of what machines or tech can and can’t do for you. Pluto doesn’t take anything, but it does expedite decay for things that need to die.

Oh also Aquarius rules politics and politicians. Big government is Capricorn, but true political animals are Aquarian in nature.

Let’s see what else happens. Again, Pluto re-enters Capricorn in June, so what’s happening now is just a taste.

*Yes, I’m singing the Bojack Horseman theme song.
