Hot tip on another opposition

😬

The sun is opposing Pluto this week which is a key point in Pluto's retrograde cycle. Between the full moon last week and the activities of this week, those of you feeling Pluto right now will know in no uncertain terms what you are dealing with. A hallmark of Pluto transits is resisting whatever Pluto is trying to transform in you, almost always because it's horribly uncomfortable. I was reading some Howard Sasportas this week (💚 him) and he talked about how we process incoming data: through the head, the heart, or the belly. The head is obviously intellectual, the heart is emotional, and the belly is primal. Pluto transits are belly transits, stirring stuff within you that's been sitting in your unconscious for a very, very long time. When you feel threatened on a primal level, you go into fight or flight (or freeze or fawn) mode, right? Regardless of which one you choose, it's a big NO THANK YOU to the transformation Pluto demands of each of us.

Pluto's retrograde started in May. What often happens when Pluto goes retrograde is seemingly high pressure or disturbing situations lose their drive and tension. Those who don't know astrology will think to themselves "thank god that's over!" but the retrograde is really a processing time when we mull over what we want to do, and the opposition time imbues some clarity, as though the universe is saying to you "just in case you were unclear, this is exactly what you're up against."

There's a lot of stories in various religions in which God charges a human with a task and their immediate reaction is "hell no." But then as the situation around them evolves, they realize they have to do the thing they initially strongly protested and hoped they could avoid. This is also exactly what Pluto transits do. During retrograde times you're usually realizing that you're going to have to face the music at some point. When the retrograde ends, the tension comes back and you move forward. Sometimes kicking and screaming. But forward nonetheless.

Now, even if you don't have an active Pluto transit going, this does apply to you. Look at the house where transiting Pluto is (27 degrees Capricorn as of this writing), and then find the house opposite that. In my experience, with Pluto in a house, there's heavy emphasis on that house, and not enough on the opposite house, so you have to evolve the activities of the opposite house (the one where the sun is) seemingly by sheer force of will. If Pluto's in your 8th house, there's a lot of crisis and not a lot of room for calm (2nd house). 9th house, there's a lot of philosophy, religion, or mind-broadening happening and not so much emphasis on use of your own logic and common sense (3rd house). 10th house, lots of responsibility, not so much room for your feelings or needs (4th house). I can do this all day, but hopefully you get the drift. I've said this before: one of my homies aptly said "It seems like everyone's got too much of one thing and not enough of something else right now." And that's Pluto in Capricorn in a nutshell. So find 27 Cancer (the sign opposite Capricorn), and that's probably your "not enough" point. So get mulling about what you're going to do inside your psyche to build more of what you need for yourself, since with Pluto, this is where the change happens.

Yours in clarity,J
