Interpersonal summer

Circulating, smiling big, etc.

Who else is enjoying the Gemini heyday? With Jupiter in the sign for the next year and the temporary (not much longer) residence of the sun, Venus, and Mercury in the sign, there's lots of circulating right now. I've had two back-to-back announcements of "oh hey I'll be in town in two days," so have been able to see people I never get to see in the flesh on short notice. That's Gemini: blink and you'll miss it. I'm an air sun sign, so biased, but Jupiter in air signs makes me feel like I can breathe: more opportunities to go places and see people and learn things and talk to others. I love it and I want it to happen all the time.

Also in Gemini fun, I made a video breaking down the Bennifer situation: their charts together and their composite chart, so if you want to learn more astrology and also listen to me talk, that’s here.

Mars is in Taurus for the next 5 weeks, which is not its favorite place to be (Venus is unhappy in Mars' signs and vice versa--it's easy to remember--and Taurus is a Venus sign). If you're in the mood to slowly work on something, this is the energy for you. The thing I find amusing about people with Mars in Taurus is how you really can't push them to do anything. They will move when they're ready, and they will only do what they want to do. This is only amusing when you're an observer of the Mars in Taurus person not moving, for the record. So, if you find yourself trying to talk a stubborn person into moving, good luck to you. Shift tactics and try baiting them (try promising fancy food). If you have a long project to settle in and chip away at, you've got Mars on your side, and then you can go out on day trips (Gemini energy) in your down time.

After Mars leaves Taurus, it joins Jupiter in Gemini in August. Mars-Jupiter unions aren't super common in the sky, and under normal conditions, this is big Mars energy, so you can either get a lot done or be bulldozed by a Mars in your vicinity, but this year, the Mars-Jupiter union is squared (a not-nice aspect) by Saturn. So on the one hand, you have somebody who is super excited about going out and doing stuff (the Gemini energy) getting stopped by authority figures in their feelings (Saturn in Pisces). Maybe the authority figures are jealous? But the carefree get stopped by the fun police in August. Or your vacation gets interrupted by a work crisis. Think along these lines: fun vs. responsibility. Plan debauchery for July if you want it to go off without a hitch.

One positive use of this is to bring an out of control rumor mill into line, though, so just keep that in mind. Gemini can get away with itself, but a demand for facts can turn the situation around.

This your semi-annual reminder that the transiting north node is in Aries, which means focusing on things you want to do, despite the cacophony of input from other people (that'd be the Libra energy). Basically: people-pleasing is not worthwhile right now. I got asked this week to "be nice" to someone, and I believe I have previously made my feelings on being "nice" clear, but in this case it was in service of someone experiencing impostor syndrome, so, sure, I can be help someone who is doing their best, but I wanted to sass the requestor with an "as opposed to my original plan of mocking them mercilessly?" For the record, I've always been nice to the requestor, so this was even more confusing. With a Libra south node in the sky right now, if you try to placate someone/people, there's no end to it. Save time and brush up on "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" or other derivations of this classic literature. Spoiler: the mouse in question is never satisfied. Just smile big and then do whatever you were going to do in the first place.

Jerk.
