Love is...(currently)
Venus in Capricorn
Believe it or not, this is what I do for fun and entertainment (and I do readings because they are fun for me and I really enjoy them), and while the state of the world is...weird...I don't want to make this thing that I enjoy lame as hell by continuing to reflect on current events. Therefore, I am going to do something different. If you do have questions about the current sky vs. you, I'm happy to read for you, just hit me up, but for right now I am stepping down the intensity purposefully because I would rather have a good time doing the thing I find fun. So I'm gonna talk about loooooove for a while.
Which one is the love planet? That'd be Venus.
Right now Venus is in Capricorn, and it will be until about December 7, so the planet of love is in the sign of authority and respect. Well, that's a weird combo, you know?

For the one person who will appreciate this.
What does it mean to have Venus in Capricorn in your birth chart (or Saturn making any aspect to Venus)? Usually when people look this one up, they tend to get depressed, because Venus and Saturn don't mix all that well. This is true when Venus is in Saturn's sign and Saturn's in Venus's sign: the combo is typically love and work, but it's also things Saturn likes, like frugality and restraint. People with Venus in Capricorn tend to be shrewd with money, but they also tend to be conservative with love: they might not show it, they might not tell you about it, and they might not want to admit it to themselves. I've seen more than a few Venus in Capricorn or Saturn in Libra people deny, deny, deny what's glaringly obvious, like we're in some sort of romantic comedy where the protagonist gets bonked on the head and realized it's been (love object) all along. It's cute when it's a movie. It's frustrating when it's real life. Also, there can be some low self-esteem issues, because Saturn...does that, too.
Another thing this combo is associated with is age: since Saturn things require you to be mature, the older you get, the easier this energy is to handle (usually, anyway). People with Saturn-Venus stuff happening tend to marry late OR they marry someone who has a significant age difference from them (so there's a bit of an imbalance authority-wise) OR they marry early but for the wrong reasons and wind up having to try again later (oops). Occasionally, you'll see the Venus-Saturn combo never marry, but that's pretty rare. For the record, I think of "marry" and "be in a very long term relationship" interchangeably: one of them is just much shorter to type.
For people who have other Venus situations (which occasionally results in rainbows shooting out of their eyeballs the minute they meet a romantic possibility), the staid approach to loooove is unfathomable and sometimes downright irritating (have you ever tried to convince someone to ask out the person they are obviously in love with, and they argue with you, somehow generating 10 reasons they'd rather be safe and unhappy? I used to waste a lot of time, obviously). Eventually Venus in Capricorn/Saturn in Libra people stop being fussy and pull themselves together, especially if they realize they'll miss out otherwise. There's a small minority of this population who over-Saturn and exclude romantic possibilities for the most trivial reasons you've ever heard in your life (wrong shoe size or something similarly insane). If they have a Venus/Saturn combo of some type and are doing this mental hopscotch, you can begin to suspect a deeply-rooted self-esteem issue or a total lack of maturity on the love front (it's usually both, whether or not they will admit it), which would be what we in astrology call a "bad response to Saturn." Should you confront them? Probably not. Do they need to know that there's no such thing as a completely perfect human being? Probably. Do you want to be the one arguing this? (No.)
Given Venus's transit in Capricorn, love is...somewhat lame right now. But it's a good opportunity to invest in quality items (Venus in Capricorn is willing to spend more to get something that will last longer), check your investments or start investing, and performing acts of service for the people you care about. Yes, it's annoying that combining Venus and Saturn often generates phrases like "what have you done for me lately?" but since it's the vibe of the times, make yourself useful or do something helpful. Or you could even help a Venus/Capricorn/Saturn combo person rationalize their next romantic move: Saturn loves logic, and using the phrase "any reasonable person would..." can often make these people wake up. Just sayin'.
Right now, love is...buying the binder clips your object of affection so desires. Do it, even if you are rolling your eyes and holding your nose. For love!
