Same sun energy 🌞
What does it mean when someone has their sun in the same place as you?
Okay good question from a reader (you know who you are 😊): what is the astrological significance of someone having the same birthday as you?
If it's just the same birthday, but a different year: your sun is in roughly the same degree. That's it. The other 9 planets we care about are somewhere else.
If it's the same birthdate: all of your planets are in roughly the same place, but unless you are twins delivered minutes apart, you have a different ascendant/chart setup.
If you are twins delivered minutes apart, you have basically the same chart, so all 10 planets in about the same place, give or take some minutes.
Twins delivered hours apart will likely have different ascendants and the moon will be significantly different, so they’re more like #2 above.
So: least same, more same, most same. But even for those twins, the minutes between births make a difference, because the ascendant will be slightly different and the moon is usually in a slightly different place, and yes, that DOES make a difference.
What I've found with people born my year and roughly my birth date: they have the same energy as me, and being faced with my own energy has compounding effects for good or for ill. We can be really creative together (all the Sagittarius & Pisces energy we have) or really morose (all the Saturn/Capricorn shit). It's refreshing to hang out with my own energy for a couple of hours but then it feels stifling if I do it long-term (which I did for 13 years, so I’ve been there). Since I don't have a twin, I can't really comment on the experience, but I think there are benefits and drawbacks of that sameness. Also: you have very similar drama at very similar times. I can talk FOREVER about this so I will stop myself now.
What is usually true if you have the same energy as someone you spend a lot of time with: you express that energy in different ways. For example: Sagittarius energy can be super-religious or super into higher education or super "spiritual" or hellbent on believing in nothing (a belief system in and of itself) or constantly traveling or flaky as shit or wandering off somewhere or on a crusade of some sort or on a never-ending path of discovery...you get it, right? So two Sagittarius sun siblings might mean one has a PhD and one is never on the same continent as the family. It's very rare that people with the same energy express it the exact same way. Actually, I don't think it happens at all. Similar, but not the same.
What I've found with people born my birthday is kind of dependent on their charts. One lady I know was born with Pluto was opposing her sun, so my existence exacerbates that aspect for her, since my sun is in the same place, and she goes on little egoic power trips when I'm around…and probably also when I’m not around, but I get the stinkeye a lot, which is hard not to take personally. My sister also has the same astrological birthday as me (on a calendar it's the day before my birthday). Last year we both had Saturn transits to our sun at the same time: she had to get a new car because hers died and I had to catch up on all my doctors appointments and shots. Our suns are 10 minutes apart from each other, which, based on Saturn's speed last summer, was about 4 days' difference. She got COVID, I got bad news... and a man let me down (sun transits often = men) all at the same time, because we both had the same stressful aspect going.
Last fall, when Saturn made its final aspect to our suns, stinkeye lady above got really sick for several weeks, my sister had a super stressful event, and I was acutely aware that I would be stressed and mitigating what I could…because I was watching the sky and expecting it. That’s not me congratulating myself, stress is just different when you see it coming and understand what the energy is trying to do vs. when it takes you by surprise.
I wrote about Saturn because it’s freshest on my mind, but also when your sun gets a good aspect, that happens at the same time, too. My sister once won free VIP concert tickets on the radio and took me to the show: Venus was trining both our suns. It works both ways.
