From the beyond

Last week I was explaining to a friend that spirit guides keep you on path in life. That’s their goal. They do help you live your best life, and if you’re veering off track in the direction you chose for yourself, they’ll help you stay on it. My friend was lamenting that something her guides seemed to have wanted her to do was not easy or pleasant. Most of the time, growth comes from pain. Guides are detached enough from human life that they are okay with you being in pain if you’re getting a necessary growth opportunity out of it. I told her I was not above flipping my guides off, because they sometimes suggest I do certain things and I think to myself “there’s no way that’s going to go well for me, guys.”

Several days later, I was trading readings with a friend of mine who is also trained to work with spirit guides. As she was reading for me, she looked over and said “are your guides the type of guides who would do this?” and I looked up and saw she was flipping me off. I laughed and explained that they were responding to a previous conversation. Apparently they heard me, and apparently *they* are not above flipping *me* off, either.

Guides know you better than anyone and often suggest things you hadn’t thought of to improve your life, or point out when you’re being needlessly hard on yourself in certain areas. I don’t know if everyone has guides who have similar temperaments to themselves, but I think “asshole” is a term of endearment, and my guides seem similar. And I love them.
