Save Leo

Fun is endangered

First, let's do this. The sign Leo rules: the heart, romance, creativity, play, art, being in the spotlight, royalty, and children. If you're performing in the spotlight, that's Leo energy or 5th house stuff.

Wherever Pluto is transiting, the sign opposing it gets pretty pulverized, either obviously or otherwise, so the resources represented by that sign are unavailable by the end of the transit. So Pluto in Capricorn killed or seriously reduced access to Cancer-related shit: housing, food, (health)care, and the warm fuzzies. The people who retained access to all those things are people with Cancer energy in their birth charts or planets in the 4th house because their energy inherently means they'll prioritize these things, but who ELSE retained access? Only a small minority of the population. After Pluto activity, it takes YEARS to get feet back under the concepts represented by the sign that just got decimated. An example of this is journalism (Gemini-ruled), which got taken out by Pluto in Sagittarius, which ended in 2008.

Leo things aren't doing so hot is my point. Music, movies, tv programming, recreational facilities, theater, art: is any of this going well right now? What it looks like to me is that there are a few artists in various mediums that are thriving at the moment, but while art has never been a straightforward career situation, it's even less so now. Now, think about the places you'd go to do fun stuff 20 or 30 years ago vs. today. Stuff like arcades and roller rinks. You could reasonably afford to go to theme parks and get out of your head for a while. Also, romance was murdered by dating apps and the lack of normal in-person socialization in favor of digital shit. "You up?" is not romantic.

I'm not the arbiter of energy: this is my theory based on observation, so I honestly do welcome discourse on this. I'm not sentencing all Leos or people with Leo energy to certain doom. My point is actually the opposite: in the face of very strong opposing energy, it's more important than ever to pursue and value fun, art, romance, etc. Within realistic parameters, of course. It just does not seem like a time to pursue Leo things as full-time careers unless you are very brave.

Another item under the Leo heading is travel for pleasure or tourism. Regular travel for exploration is a Sagittarius thing, so I'm talking about the resort life where you park your butt somewhere and lie on a beach. I've started to see tourist destinations where the locals are officially over the havoc tourists have wreaked on their communities. I think we'll keep seeing tourist destinations, resorts, and cruises change in their fundamental nature. Also, the answer to the question "what do you do for fun?" is going to look different.

This is not a great setup, but Pluto's in Aquarius, and it's coming after people with "stuff" in Leo over the next 18-19 years. I'd also like to point out that a lot of the problems with Leo things didn't appear overnight. Hollywood was changed by streaming services, as was the music industry, and streaming wouldn't be possible without fast internet--when was the advent of the internet? Well, when Uranus and Neptune were transiting Aquarius back in the 90s: that was a wild time, and now we're looking at the downside of that wild time (because Pluto's in Aquarius now). I can't do a comprehensive history of time here (I'm not a historian) but I do know the Hollywood heyday was back when Neptune was in Leo, in the 1910s and 20s, and people born with Neptune in Leo perpetuated that energy (in the 30s, 40s, etc.). Now that they're gone (they died a while ago), so's the vision of art and beauty on film, and we got ourselves...franchise films. Maybe I'm being overly reductive. There are still creative people out there. There are still artists. It's just that the energy we have going right now is not supportive of such endeavors. Hobbies, yes. Professions, not so much.
