Slow-off
And our transition era
The good news is that Mercury isn't retrograde, nor is Venus. Things that are (currently): Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto. Five is too many: this is always true, regardless of which ones they are. My advice is always to swim with the current: if things are going well for you in an area, do not be the idiot who looks the gift horse in the mouth, and just go with it. If you can't make stuff happen to save your life, go take a nap. Look at the overachievers in your life and how frustrated they are right now, and this is EXACTLY why I always give this advice. Retrograde = energy no worky.
Mercury was just retrograde, and here's my favorite personal story from this round: Mercury is in Virgo, which rules day-to-day routines, as well as health, and my employer had the annual flu shot and blood draw extravaganza. I always do it, because it's free and I feel flu shots are a good idea for me, personally, plus having bloodwork done is a decent alert if things are wonky (and I'm a notorious hypochondriac). Well, this year, my bloodwork data went missing. That's as textbook as it gets: where is my data, let alone my *health* data? It turned out that this year's bloodwork was entered under the wrong social security number, for some reason, AND my height in the system was also entered in as 5'0, which is about 6 inches less than what I am (and I am willing to admit that my 6s might look like zeroes: my handwriting is terrible, but I didn't give them my full social, so that one was just a technical glitch). So suddenly the automatically-calculated BMI is in the warning range because I lost 6 inches in a year. I found this hilarious.
Then this morning, post Mercury-retrograde, I realized I never received any paperwork or emails or alerts of *any* kind to renew my wheel tax. (Mercury = cars, too.)
I think the fact that Pluto's back in Capricorn after being in Aquarius, however briefly, is fascinating. This is the first time that I've experienced a Pluto sign change since learning astrology, and due to its elliptical orbit around the sun, Pluto's in some signs for almost no time at all (meaning 8 years, because it's slow-moving) and others basically forever (30 years). It has been in Capricorn for about 14 years. Here's my point: people have had a taste of Aquarius energy, which is lighter than Capricorn energy, and then Pluto retrograded back to Capricorn and they are *not* having it. I believe I called one of my posts about this "get back in your box."
Whatever sign Pluto is in, the keywords that sign represent might be trying to kill you. So when Pluto was in Scorpio in the 80s and 90s, sex might have been trying to kill you. Sagittarius? Well, 9-11 happened and we had some holy wars, didn't we? (Sagittarius = religion.) Capricorn: your boss, authority, and establishment. So look at the auto workers' strike happening now. Aquarius definitely wants fairness and equality, and suddenly that's much more of a motivator (I'm not being contrary here: Pluto both deeply motivates you and tries to kill off parts of you that you've outgrown). So the profits-at-any-cost Capricorn era is dying. You really don't have to take my word for it: you'll see for yourself (slowly over time, of course).
So it leaves Capricorn again in January and goes back in next fall for a brief stint. We'll see more of this "no, actually, go fuck yourself (boss, company, conglomeration, government)" energy. But you know what Aquarius is? Politics. Political systems and parties will change, but before you start rubbing your hands together with glee (because who amongst us is not sick of the infighting of the dipshits?) please note that Pluto kills things and blows other things way out of proportion: it is not your fairy godmother and should never be confused as such. We'll see what form this stuff actually takes, but right now we're in a weird in-between period where you can't get too comfortable either way.
