Intentionality vs. reactiveness
Look, there's a reason I didn't want to talk about the election aside from that I don't like politics. The night before the election, an astrologer I respect sent an email predicting the wrong outcome. Four months ago, a different astrologer predicted the correct outcome, but, like everything, it was murky and not slam-dunk. The problem with astrology is that if you want to, you can make it mean a lot of things. The future's not written until we get there, and energy is just energy. I'd like to think that looking at the energy we have available and deciding productive ways to use it is a healthy way to live your life, rather than hiding your head in the sand and pretending that things aren't happening. Sometimes, though, the energy you'd like to have and the energy you DO have are not the same thing. The election sky sucked and continues to suck (because Mars and Pluto are still opposing each other, mainly).
The reality is that Pluto goes into Aquarius until 2043 on November 20. That's actually really progressive energy, but it compounds over time rather than being immediately felt, and "until 2043" is a long time. Saturn and Neptune will conjunct off and on in 2025 and 2026: this is an aspect I am NOT looking forward to, but it does usually portend progressive times for women*. (Will it be progressive the hard way? Probably!) Uranus will dance between Taurus and Gemini in 2025 and 2026, too: Taurus is the conservative one of those two, and Gemini likes to shake things up. This is not the same situation as 2016, which had Pluto in Capricorn squaring Uranus in Aries, and then there was the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in 2019-20 which was peak bleak.
Having said all that, I still prefer working with people on a one-to-one basis rather than speculating as to where society is going, or where we're going globally. And I fucking hate politics. (I mean, look what they’ve done to us.)
The truth is, for myself, sometimes I look at energy that I will have available and the possibilities therein, and I don't believe that I will get from where I currently am to where the chart says I'm going, but it always happens somehow. So you can believe me or not about the energy I'm discussing: you're subject to it either way.
I'm thinking about what I personally want to do differently this time around and how to not drive myself crazy. I watched a lot of people be smug and wrong over the last week because it would get them viewership or clicks and I have to accept that that's the environment we're in right now: people profit off of spinning you up and/or telling you what you want to hear. I'm grossed out by it, and I also know I will not do well psychologically if I put myself in a wind tunnel with people who are loud and wrong (or right and raging). I did not do well psychologically the last time around, and I'd really like to not repeat that. Not sure if that's realistic, though. But my decision point is are we doing something or are you just yelling? I don't think just yelling has helped anyone: I'd argue it's done a lot of damage.
Remember when I said that Mars retrograde would be about something you cared about very much but couldn't do anything about? Well? Then Venus goes retrograde when Mars turns around, then Saturn and Neptune start conjuncting each other, and 2025 truly is one thing after another, so you have to take it one step at a time. If you want to find outlets for your unrest, they will be available to you. But don't just sit and stew and drive yourself nuts, okay? Also, don't spread your rage around like a virus. Find a healthy outlet for it.
*If I ever find out what the energy is for undoing racism, I’ll talk about it, but I don’t even know where to start with that issue.
