The back half of 2022
In which patience is compulsory.
Here's what you guys need to consider for the remaining months of 2022 from an astrological perspective:
The Saturn-Uranus square is intense again. Currently, Saturn is retrograde and moving back toward a square aspect (90 degrees, harsh) with Uranus, which is forward-moving at present but will retrograde in August. They will make direct contact in October and move out of aspect in January. For all of us, this means reconciling our goals with the need to innovate, or our sense of personal authority bumping up against the need for freedom from old shit we feel shackled to. For those of you who have a harsh Saturn-Uranus aspect in your birth chart, this is an especially important time for you to look at how you're dealing with issues of personal authority vs. personal freedom/the need to innovate.
What I'm actually saying: people with harsh Saturn-Uranus aspects in their birth chart tend to bristle at being told what to do by someone else. Their goals and sense of direction in life are uniquely their own and so being forced to fit into the mold of what everyone else is doing is like being told to wear someone else's (clown) shoes all the time. When sky aspects repeat your own birth aspects, it's a time to reconcile these issues, which is a nice way of saying that life conspiratorially provides you with examples of how your goals and authority are working for or against you. This may take the form of bad bosses, angry parents or familial authority figures, clueless leadership, watching people rearrange the deck chairs on the Hindenburg, seeing the cost of people who refuse to change, etc., while you long to throw the baby out with the bathwater. The real danger here is overcorrecting and unceremoniously quitting jobs or telling people to fuck off when it wasn't necessary to go supernova. If this sounds like you (if you started nodding at that last sentence, especially), my advice is to stay really in tune with your instincts regarding what is working and what is not, and find a trusted, pragmatic, grounded confidant to help you filter your observations as to what needs to change and who you trust to restrain you from your baser inclinations, even if that means they have to lock you in a closet from time to time until you calm down.
All of this advice is relevant to everyone but especially those with Saturn-Uranus aspects in their birth charts. Cool? Cool.
Next. Mars will be hanging out in Gemini forever. It's currently in Taurus, and it typically takes 6 weeks to run through a sign, but it will spend from late August until late March in Gemini. Seven months! I'm personally offended. So whatever house in your chart has Gemini at 8 - 25 degrees, you can expect that you'll have a concentration of activity that will die out in November-January and then resurrect itself thereafter. Because Mars will be retrograde, or appearing to move backwards, during that time.
Said another way: everyone is going to be mildly frustrated November-January about something. They won't be able to put their finger on what's causing it if they don't know astrology, but you'll know, and you can choose to tell them or not. People who are Mars-ruled (Aries or Scorpio rising) will be especially crabby. If you've ever been sailing, we'll go from having strong wind to no wind. Have you ever sat in a sailboat with a frustrated sailor who doesn't believe in having a little motor for wind-free times? This is what it's going to feel like, and you're going to have to trust that the wind will pick up again while you restrain the urge to dump the yelling sailor overboard. People who don't realize they shouldn't overexert themselves will try everything they can think of to move situations forward, but you will be smarter than that, acknowledge your frustrations, and not fall all over yourself attempting to take action, because that would be an exercise in futility. This isn't me saying "don't do anything" but it is me saying "don't do things that are obviously not working." I trust you are smart enough to know the difference.
A word on Gemini: when Venus was retrograde in Gemini in 2020, George Floyd was killed, and there was a social uprising. Uranus in Gemini tends to portend war (Uranus is not in Gemini right now, but Uranus is a disruptive energy and Gemini is a sign about the common man/societal getting-along). Venus retrograde was a disruptive energy, and Mars retrograde will be, too. And the common man has plenty to be pissed off about at present. Throw a metaphorical rock and hit an issue.
Mars in Gemini (at normal speed) likes to move fast and argue. But Mars will not *be* moving at normal speed when it's in Gemini, so I have two nuggets of advice for you from August through March currently, which I will of course revisit when we get closer, as it will be more evident as to what the energy is doing, and right now I can only speculate. Here are the things you should definitely do:
watch your mouth.
drive slow.
People will say things they don't mean and petty arguments will ensue. People will try to move too fast and say or do the wrong thing, or get into accidents. These things I guarantee.
Other less exciting facts:
Jupiter will go back to Pisces for two months but we already know what that's about, so I shrug at that mightily.
Pluto will still be in Capricorn still making everyone feel like life is endless slog (still).
The south node of the moon will still be in Scorpio, so don't cause drama because you're bored and do seek your own sense of personal stability that is independent of outside factors, because there's not a lot of outer stability right now. Obviously.
Yours in harnessing sky energy to your personal advantage,J
