Mercury + Mars together again: let's get weird
I had an interaction this week which is indicative of the general energy right now: someone I didn't think was verbose opened up and became extremely chatty at an inopportune moment. He's known for sending one-word emails and two-word Christmas cards and I was sitting next to him at a two day training where I was trying to multitask and he decided to pepper me with questions. We had a lovely conversation, I was just super-stressed about getting some stupid stuff done, so in my head I was going "Really? Today's the day you talk?" Yes, yes it was.

Mercury and Mars will be conjunct extra-long in Scorpio and then in Sagittarius, and then Mercury goes retrograde back into Scorpio. For a while, Mercury and Mars will be part of a water grand trine involving Saturn-Neptune (Pisces) and Jupiter (Cancer). This is kind of exciting because people who don't usually talk start talking, information that's been held back comes out, emotions that don't normally get revealed emerge, but then Mercury retrogrades but is still conjunct Mars for a while, so information's still going fast but in odd directions, and THEN it goes silent, because Scorpio is normally pretty quiet. Basically: in the next two weeks, if a lot of information is coming out that you want or need, take it but don't take it for granted or think it will still be there/is the new norm for you, because it's not. It's kind of like someone confessing their feelings for you and then proceeding to hide from you inexplicably: ever had that happen? It's kind of hard to take someone at their word when you seem to be playing adult peek-a-boo.

So what I plan on doing (and you can copy me or not) is take what I can get and then reflect on it during the retrograde. The thing is, right now I have some information I really would like to get and some information I would prefer to stay inside someone's head, and I might get both, and I might get neither. With trines, especially grand trines, obstacles vanish, and this is a grand trine in water, so think about what happens when obstructions preventing water from going somewhere vanish. You need to put them back or find new obstacles (sandbags!!) to stop the water. Ever had someone suddenly start talking about their feelings and then kind of go on endlessly, like someone flipped a switch from "talk about this never" to "talk about this constantly"? Or have you seen what happens when someone fills the quiet guy with 10 beers? Basically: we're going to be talking about feelings and information that was "hidden" is coming out. And then Mercury retrogrades (the quiet guy wakes up with a hangover and deep regret) and it gets weird.
Honestly, though? I am all about a water trine right now. They can be used for healing and restoration in addition to what I've listed here, but because Mercury and Mars are involved, I'm leaning heavily on the talking as the likely possibility and my bias is that I've had a lot of Mercury this week and information (and requests for information) would not stop finding me, and that's in addition to Mr. Chatty.

Due to the planets involved, and the fact that Mars and Mercury are in Scorpio, I want to give you the following caveat: if you are the person who suddenly can't stop talking (we've all been there), try to think about whether the recipient of the information will benefit from knowing what you're saying. Scorpio's about things you can't un-hear and can't un-know and also can't come back from: bells you can't un-ring, in other words. If you're telling someone The Truth, tread lightly. There are some truths that no one benefits from knowing. I didn't think that was the case when I was younger (and I ran my mouth a lot), but now I occasionally find myself in the position of deciding what information can or should be released (in my day job, not in the readings I do), and they are truths I can't un-know and I wish I could, and my silence is about preserving someone's dignity or protecting people from superfluous information that would really hurt to hear. Sometimes you think you want to know until you find out.
Finally, if information is coming out either way, you CAN choose to direct it. Scorpio is extremely tactical. Basically, if you can't bite your tongue and you need to tell someone something, pick the right someone: preferably someone whose discretion you trust.
