The trouble with Scorpio

Before I upset anyone, this is the pot calling the kettle black.

For people with a lot of (planetary) placements in Scorpio, or even a few, choice ones, there are several things to keep in mind:

  1. personal psychological knowledge is critical to understanding what you want and why you're doing the same things relentlessly (honestly it's your only hope to get you to stop in some cases)

  2. it's really hard to get you to put things down. The drive is relentless, as are the fixations.

  3. watch where your energy is going, especially your emotional preoccupations

  4. water signs tend to like to revisit the past a lot. Scorpio is a water sign.

Some of us let sub-optimal life situations slide off of us like water off a duck's back. People with a lot of Scorpio or a strong Pluto who are not self-aware have the mental equivalent of an old-school library card catalog of past hurts that they can revisit at any time, especially when triggered. If you've been on the receiving end of this, someone's coming at you waving a (metaphorical) ancient paper card with shit you did wrong 5, 10, 15 years ago written on it and expecting you to apologize *again.* A second, similar problem is with grief, and it's the same basic concept: the inability to get over being wronged or a loss can define your life if you let it.

You know what Scorpio is really good at, when it's in control? Deciding how much energy to dole out to a person, place, or thing, and then stopping at the pre-determined point. But when it gets in Drake's feelings (Drake is a Scorpio with 4 planets in Scorpio so, he's a SCORPIO) out of control fixations and preoccupations can pop up like weeds. The difference between in-control and out-of-control is stark.

I've wronged some people for sure (who among us hasn't?). There's someone from my past who I don't think about when I'm awake, but for years I dreamed about every other night, like clockwork. I'd wake up, feel frustrated that I had the same theme-dream again, and then go about my day. I'm an intuitive sponge though, and it turned out that the problem is that they are projecting some of their lingering hurt feelings toward me, even though we rarely talk, and it was coming out of my subconscious. Water energy does this! Once I realized that the dreams weren't being caused by anything I was doing wrong (consciously or otherwise) I started clearing this person's energy intentionally every night before bed (meaning: intentionally sending anything back I might have picked up) and no more dreams. They let go on the face of it but are still clutching their little card with broken promises written on it.

So here's my advice: decide whether you want to let the bad thing that happened define you, because it will if you let it. Decide every day until you don't think about it anymore. Do that with your library catalog of past hurts. In my experience, that's the only way to let go of some things.

XO,
