This week in ditching old crap
👋 🧳
Some thoughts: this week reeked of some of the last throes of Pluto in Capricorn. Please remember that it goes back into Aquarius in January, comes back out into Capricorn next fall for election season (not touching this thought with a 40 foot pole—I hate politics so much), and then after that two-month stint in 2024, it's in Aquarius for good. The Pluto in Capricorn vibes are this awful pulverizing/churning that accompanies the feeling that nothing will ever be good again, ever, and that we should all probably give up trying. Here's a news recap about the Maine incident that I thought was a good creative take as well as a perfect encapsulation of Pluto in Capricorn, entitled Shooter Weather.
When I saw that the shooter in question was my age, I had a "bingo" moment, like oh I know exactly what happened: he has Pluto square Pluto by transit, and he's "one of us" (as I refer to the people born in the same time window as me because I think of everyone as make and model at this point): he had Saturn conjunct Pluto, and if Marjorie Orr is to be trusted, Mars opposing that Pluto-Saturn. Since I have Pluto square Pluto right now, I can attest: it brings out the worst in you and makes you feel like your consciousness is melting. Add Mars to that mix and you might be inclined to *do something* about it. Like take a bunch of people out. Please recall that Pluto-Mars aspects are harbingers of violence, and this dude had that in his birth chart. Doesn't mean you have to be violent, but it seemed like this energy backed up on him and caused what it caused because he didn't understand what was happening to him. Or he was straight crazy.
My point here about Pluto in Capricorn is that there’s an expiration date on this particular brand of awfulness. It may not seem that way, but once Pluto’s in Aquarius it will feel like there are other options if you feel like currently you have to choose between bad and worse. Pluto in Aquarius will not solve all of your problems: it will create new problems. But the current problems will fade.
And onward we go.
This week Saturn fully stations, meaning it's dead stopped in the sky and those with active, negative Saturn transits feel like they're being elbowed in the head. The good news for these guys is they'll feel looser by the new year and that things are opening back up. Then Saturn moves on to anyone with *stuff* in mid-mutable signs. "In english please" translation: if you've got planets/angles in between 7° and 20° Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and/or Pisces, 2024 is going to be a Saturnian year for you. Meaning either responsibility, hard work, delays, or all of these things at once. Self-esteem will be low and stuff to do will be high.
The GOOD news here is that once Saturn's moving forward, so too do your projects and ambitions. With Saturn we can actually get shit done. Without Saturn, work isn't really cohesive, but with Saturn things start to add up. So if you've been treading water, you can move forward soon. The thing is, Saturn's in Pisces. The work here to do is overcoming your phobias and your simmering emotional issues you'd probably rather not deal with. If you've been alive for more than 30 years, Saturn in Pisces is going to bring up stuff from that long ago or before for you to deal with. (If you haven't been alive for 30 years, think: early childhood stuff coming back up much to your consternation.) It's not fun. But it is an opportunity to leave a lot of crap behind that you don't need. Imagine you have a suitcase of psychic complexes (we all do, metaphorically speaking), and as Saturn has transited the other 11 signs, you've developed issues that you think to yourself "I don't have time to deal with this now," and into the suitcase it goes. Pisces time is the time to open up that suitcase and unpack it all, because Aries (the next sign) is a fresh start. You don't want to drag a suitcase of garbage into your fresh start, do you? And you probably *do* have time to deal with it now: just quit pretending it’s not there. Saturn doesn’t hit Aries til mid 2025, so get going.
Generally, Saturn in a water sign is rough, because you have to deal with emotional issues, but I'm beginning to not mind it, because Pisces is psychic work, and helping people unpack and look at the hangups in their psyche is something I'm actually good at, so it's good for business. But I understand that it's uncomfortable. It's just that being uncomfortable never stopped me from doing anything! Even when it should have.
