Truth time (?)

The good news is that Venus is now slowly moving away from Pluto--they're still right next to each other, but I always like to be on the separating end of intense aspects.

The other good news is that Saturn and Uranus are slowly moving out of square aspect from each other. You'll see the tension wane over the next 2 months and then they will leave each other alone until next September. Fall looks colorful, but that's another topic for another day.

Also, Jupiter's shifting to Pisces on Wednesday, which I wrote about earlier in December (the beauty of the move to Substack is I'll be able to link to my own previous emails after a while, but not yet, so if you missed that email and want to read it, let me know and I'll re-send).

If you don't have a topic that's been bugging you for the past week (or several weeks), you can safely ignore the rest of this email. If you do, it's important to note that Mercury is heading toward Venus and Pluto, meaning that there's going to be even more communication energy around what's been bugging us for the past month. Now's a really important time to say that Mercury's energy is neutral. It's a chameleon and is colored by whatever's around it and whatever sign it is in. Venus is always *nice* and Pluto is always a chasm of emotion, but Mercury is never consistently anything (all of the Geminis in the world--ruled by Mercury--just felt really validated for a split second there). It's the planet of information: what's great news to me might be terrible news to you.

So the planet of information is joining the current fray, which means there's going to be communicating about either what's bugging you or what's bugging someone else, and, of course, it ups the likelihood even more that our exes might pop up to say hi (please no). The energy is rife for announcements. But, with Pluto, Venus, and Mercury combining into one big energy blob, I want to caution you to be very careful what you say, because there are bells you can't un-ring. For some of you, it's truth time, but for others, it might be better to keep your mouth firmly shut. And the energy can go either way.

Mercury was the only god in the Roman pantheon who could freely cross into the underworld (Pluto's realm). I really enjoy this fact, so let's apply it: you can mentally go dark places without actually physically going to them. People can get depressed and see no way out and then come back from that. We've all seen someone who was physically fine but mentally going through some shit. Capricorn, the sign that Venus, Pluto, and Mercury are in, is really, really REAL. Other signs are able to put lipstick on pigs and pretend things are better or different than they are, but not Capricorn. If you're staring down a situation that feels harsh and unlikely to improve soon, well, that's what the energy right now is doing.

So it's up to you whether you want to say something. It's less up to you if you're on the receiving end of an announcement, but you always get to choose how you respond.

I was going to leave it at that, but there's one more option that I think is worth mentioning. Let's say you're wrestling with whether to tell someone a secret that would likely change their life. Let's also say that this is high-stakes and high-pressure and you're really agonizing over it. Do you have a friend who lives in the equivalent of Siberia, who you trust, who might be willing to help you sift through what to do? Try that. It might relieve some of the anxiety and help you get your head on straight. The hard part is being willing to disclose what's really bugging you. Shedding some light on an intense situation can help a lot, and people tend to think they have to suffer in silence with high-stakes stuff. You don't. One of the main ways out of hell is asking someone else for help.

XO,

J
