Uniquely excited for Jupiter in Cancer

Just remember: opportunities mean you have to act

Imagine an area of your chart with a tumbleweed blowing through it. Each of us have an area of our lives that's gone largely untouched by positive energy for a while, save for the sun and Venus. Well, we each have that, and it's where Cancer, Leo, and Virgo are. I noted a while ago that Pluto through Capricorn really decimated a lot of Cancerian concerns. Good news: Jupiter arrives in Cancer in June. It's a seed time for Cancerian stuff.

The thing is, you'll have to temper your expectations a bit. When Jupiter hits Cancer, its first act is squaring Saturn and Neptune, which is likely to enlarge existing confusion or problems, but once it clears that aspect, there are going to be some opportunities to do things like connect with family, cook stuff (try new recipes or attend a cooking class), make improvements to your home, have your feelings be well-received, or just cuddle. Jupiter = opportunities and Cancer = lunar or domestic concerns. Who amongst us can't use some caring right about now?

Please remember with Jupiter: it puts the potential out there, but it's mostly not going to ring your doorbell and shove a honey baked ham at you (unless you ordered one). Be alert for potential, which sounds like "I'm going antiquing, do you want to come?" or "My spouse who is a gourmet chef cooked too much of something. Do you want the extras?" The keyword is OPPORTUNITIES. It's not slam-dunk good times, especially if you're depressed and not doing anything proactive to help yourself.

Mainly, though, I'm not exaggerating when I say that Cancer's been a tumbleweed area, and Mars' retrograde this previous winter probably just exposed problems in the area of your chart where Cancer is that now you can work to address. Regardless of what else is going on in your chart, I think everyone can take advantage of this incoming energy in some way. You may find yourself doing stuff you used to enjoy that you totally forgot about.

Generally the rule in astrology is no energy = no action. So it ought to be refreshing to have some energy where there's been almost no action for a pretty long time.

I wrote all of the above and then lived out a perfect example of a Jupiter transit: I need a new place to live and so have been signed up for all the housing alerts in the world. I'd been getting about 7 emails a day, most of which were depressing or unworkable prospects. The morning I had an exact 0.0 trine from Jupiter to my sun, I woke up to an email about a place that seemed somewhat workable. In fact, I had a pretty good feeling that it was the one. It didn't check all of my boxes but it was about 75% there (such is the state of housing these days). Of course, I had to do something if I wanted it, so I took action, and two days later I was signing a lease. My housing situation has been pretty grim for a while, so I'm looking forward to de-tumbleweeding this part of my life.

Identify those opportunities and grab 'em, I say.
