When Jupiter doesn’t deliver
Boo-urns.

People get excited when they see Jupiter coming in their charts. Especially the optimists of the world. But sometimes expectations of what is possible with Jupiter don’t match the reality of what happens (said another way: sometimes the definition of the transit does not match your experience). Some thoughts:
If Jupiter is hitting a troublesome point in your chart, it may make the issues caused by that energy BIGGER, not better. If you have Jupiter transiting your moon, the definition is happy times. But if you have a moon that makes nothing but shitty aspects, you may instead get a reminder of all of the barriers to happiness as they exist in your life. Or. If Jupiter is transiting the same point that Saturn is transiting, you may find the number of limitations you’re experiencing skyrocketing. Jupiter made it bigger, not better. You can use this information to resolve some of the tension inherent in those shitty aspects, which can be good in the long run.
Jupiter brings opportunities, but you have to be freed up enough to access them. Jupiter in your 11th might bring new friends, but if you have 60 hours a week in time committed to other things, do you have space for new friends? Jupiter in your 7th can bring you a new romantic relationship, but not if you’re already in one. Or sometimes if you’re already in one. You get my point, yes?
A lot of the time, Jupiter brings you Jupiterian people. You like Sagittarians? I do. The optimism, dislike of firm commitments, and occasional self-righteousness is not for everyone, though.
Jupiter’s about broadening your horizons and expansion, and if you’re in the mood for neither thing, you’re not going to be looking for opportunities. Some of the time it’ll show you how you’re getting in your own way, or sometimes it’ll just bring you an exciting new book to read.
You may get favors you haven’t earned, which is one reason why people like Jupiter transits, but being let off the hook can be considered a favor. Rather than adding positives it can take away negatives.
Amusingly I had the idea to write on this topic, saw that somebody already did, wrote it anyway, and then went back and read what they wrote. I don't disagree with any of what the author said, by the way. Think of this as a compliment to that.
